Starlink for Business: How to Pick the Right Plan and Dish

If your business relies on fast, reliable internet (especially if you operate somewhere fiber and cable will not reach), Starlink might be the connectivity solution you need. This video breaks down what a business buyer needs to know before signing up: how Starlink’s service plans differ, which hardware dish fits which use case, and how to match the right combination to how your business uses the internet.

Whether you run a mobile business, operate in rural areas, manage a construction site or pop-up retail location, or just need a solid connection for remote work, this is your practical buying guide.

In this video, you will learn:
00:00 Introduction
00:19 Choosing the right Starlink service plan
02:12 Starlink hardware options compared

Service plans:
Roam is for mobility. If you move between locations (RV, work truck, field service, mobile retail), start here. The data-capped tier works for occasional use; unlimited suits full-time mobile operators. Roam is the only tier you can pause and restart on demand.

Residential is for fixed locations. If your dish stays put at a home office, farm, or single-site operation, residential delivers unlimited data at a lower price than Business. Trade-off: residential gets deprioritized during peak congestion, which hurts if your work depends on consistent throughput.

Business plans give you priority data. When the satellite cell over your location is congested, business subscribers jump the queue. The right tier for mission-critical work: point-of-sale, telehealth, video conferencing, and any workflow where a slow connection during peak hours costs you money.

Hardware:
Starlink Mini is the most portable dish. DC power, built-in router, small enough for vehicle mounting. Best for mobile professionals and Roam-plan users.

The Standard dish is the default fixed-location antenna. Bigger receiver area means better reception in cloudy or obstructed conditions. The right call for most home offices and fixed-site businesses.

The High-Performance dish handles bad weather, vehicle rooftops, and marine environments. The upgrade where the Standard dish would lose signal.

The Enterprise dish is the only Starlink hardware that lets you bring your own router and integrate with sophisticated IT setups. Built for larger deployments.

Note: Starlink plan names, costs, and hardware pricing have changed multiple times and continue to evolve. Use the framework here to pick the right tier and dish, then check starlink.com for current rates before ordering.
