Dolly Parton Opens Up About Depression, Health, and Her Mission to Help Children | Oz Celebrity

Dolly Parton has talked about a lot in her life. She has not often talked about the stretch when she came close to giving up. She does here.

She sits down with Dr. Oz to go through it honestly, the depression, and the small moment that turned it around, which was smaller than anyone would guess. She also talks about the kidney stones that finally made her take drinking water seriously, and the mountain remedies her family leaned on growing up in Tennessee, most of which she still swears by.

Then Dr. Oz goes to Nashville with her. They surprise young cancer patients at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, and Dolly explains the personal reason that hospital matters to her. While she is there she announces a one million dollar donation.

She also talks about I Believe in You, her first children’s album, and what she wanted it to do for kids who need to hear that somebody is on their side.
